The Barwon Health Eating Disorder Service (EDS) is responsible for assessment, consultation and treatment services for individuals with an eating disorder and their carers, living in the Barwon region.
The EDS team offers outpatient assessments and treatments to those 25 years and below.
Our team
The Eating Disorder Service (EDS) is comprised of mental health clinicians (psychologists, mental health nurses), dietitians, lived experience carer peer worker, psychiatry and paediatric medical staff.
How we can help
The EDS team offers a variety of treatment options depending on a person’s and family’s needs. Evidenced-based therapies for eating disorders include family, individual and group-based support.
Support can include:
- Assessment and diagnosis
- Evidence-based treatment and care planning
- Family focused interventions
- Individual therapy
- Group based therapy
- Dietetic support
- Carer support
- Integrated paediatric medicine clinic
- Care team liaison
- Intensive day program
Referrals
Referrals for young people 0 – 25 are accepted via the Child and Youth triage service on 1300 094 187.
Referrals are accepted directly from consumers, their families or a GP/Paediatrician/ private supports.
